18/11/2019 William Archer was the son of Edward and Emily Archer. Edward Archer and Emily Sarah Tenner were married on 2nd February 1875 in the district of Dungannon.
18/11/2019 William Archer was born on the 25th July 1881 in Caledon, County Tyrone. He was one of nine children.

18/11/2019 Private William Archer was serving with the 87th Battalion of the Canadian Infantry when he was killed in action at Lens in France on 24th March 1918.
18/11/2019 Private William Archer is buried in Sucrerie Cemetery, Ablain-St. Nazaire, France.
18/11/2019 The CWGC records Private Archer as the son of Emily Archer, of 81 Antrim Road, Belfast, and the late Edward Archer. He is also recorded as being a native of Caledon, County Tyrone.
18/11/2019 On 10th April 1916, after training, he arrived in England from Canada. On 5th May he joined his unit and went to the front.
18/11/2019 On 26th September 1916 he received a gunshot wound to his left forearm. He was latterly removed to England for treatment.
18/11/2019 On 4th May 1917 he returned to France. 20th May Private Archer contracted gonorrhoea. He was in hospital until 19th June 1917.
