Hugh McMullin was the son of Mrs. Mary McGahey, of Tulnavert, Clogher, County Tyrone. He was born in Aughintane, County Tyrone about 1878. Hugh McMullin enlisted in Omagh with the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (no 16816). He was transferred to the 7th Battalion Royal of the Munster Fusiliers. Lance Corporal Hugh McMullin was killed in action in Greek Macedonia on 7th December 1915, age 37.
