Summary      
William James Woods was the eldest son of William J and Margaret Woods. He was born on 15th June 1890 in Carrickfergus, County Antrim. He was one of at least nine children. His father was a miner. William was one of nine children. William Woods was living in Aughnacloy, County Tyrone when he enlisted in Belfast. 2nd Corporal William James Woods was serving with the 43rd Broad Gauge Railway Operating Company of the Royal Engineers when he was wounded. He died of wounds in France on Thursday 28th March 1918. The CWGC record 2nd Corporal William Woods as the husband of Meta Woods, of Mayfair, Cyprus Park, Bloomfield, Belfast.

Summary      
The town of Abbeville is on the main road from Paris to Boulogne (N1), about 80 kilometres south of Boulogne. The communal cemetery and communal cemetery extension are located on the left hand side of the road when leaving the town in a north-east direction for Drucat. The extension may be entered from the communal cemetery or from the Allee Du Souvenir Francais, where there is car parking available.
