19/01/2021 Hugh Caulfield was the eldest son of John and Bridget Caulfield. John Caulfield and Bridget Quinn were married on 18th November 1881 in the district of Omagh.

19/01/2021 Hugh was born in Brookeborough, County Fermanagh on 9th February 1883. He was the oldest of ten children, eight surviving. All were born in Brookeborough.
19/01/2021 The 1901 census records the family living in Ramult, Cross, County Fermanagh. Hugh is recorded as a 13 years old labourer, which is clearly erroneous. All the children’s ages are out by considerable margins. His father was a labourer.

22/11/2016 From the Belfast Newsletter dated 27th January 1916:
22/11/2016 Intimation has been received by Mrs Caulfield of Cranbrook, Fivemiletown that her son, Private Hugh Caulfield, of the 6th Dublin Fusiliers, has died of wounds in action on 22nd December last. The deceased volunteered about 18 months ago, and has two brothers, Privates John and James, with the Royal Field Artillery.
