30/12/2015 The 1911 census describes a George Hamilton, born Tyrone, son of Jane Hamilton, working as a grocer’s assistant.
30/12/2015 On the 25th August, he joined the 13th Battalion and reverted back to being Private Hamilton
30/12/2015 On 15 July 1916, he became Acting Corporal Hamilton with duty and pay at Etaples.
30/12/2015 Private Hamilton embarked from Alexandria 7th June 1916.and arrived at Marseille 14th June 1916.
30/12/2015 George Hamilton was the brother of Mrs C Marsh, of Darley Street, North Sydney, He also had a brother, William Hamilton who lived at 11 Beal Street, Leicester, England.

30/12/2015 George Hamilton enlisted on 8th August 1915 at Harwick Farm, New South Wales with Australian Infantry. He gave his age as 29 years and 8 months (born Jan 1886?). He listed his occupation as grocer.
30/12/2015 Private Hamilton was wounded in the field on 1 September 1916. He had a fracture right arm and an injured left ankle and was removed to the 3rd Canadian General Hospital.

30/12/2015 George Hamilton, brother of Mrs C Marsh, of Darley Street, North Sydney, has died of wounds in hospital at Brighton. He was a native of Dungannon, Co Tyrone, Ireland and arrived in Sydney about four years ago. He was wounded in France and died on September 20th. He was a well known member of North Sydney Rifle Club.
